Hip Hip Hooray for First Grade

Morgan starting first grade is a little less nerve racking than starting Kindergarten.  Don't get me wrong we still have a few "unknowns" that get to be added to the plate.  For the most part it is an easy transition.

The first day of school was an exciting day.  Since Daddy and Mommy were working, mamma came in the morning so Morgan could ride the bus her first day of school.  THANK YOU MAMMA!!!  Luckily, Casey was able to leave the station on time and made it home to have a few photo ops with his big 1st grader.

As with everything, this new school year brings a few more things to our agenda.  Once we get past all theses new changes in our daily routine I'm sure it will be smooth sailing until the next big challenge comes along.

Here's a few pictures of Morgan getting on the school bus.

Shh, Shh, Shh

For at least the past six months or so, Brooke has absolutely loved playing with her babies.  I didn't realize how much she loved them until we spent a weekend away.  We didn't think to take a single baby with us and she really didn't ask for one, but the moment we got home she ran straight to her room to find her baby.  That baby didn't leave her side all night!  Ever since that weekend a baby has been with for car rides, camping trips and visits to mamma and grandma's houses.

The sight is so precious, she holds her baby up to her shoulder, with one hand pats the baby's  back, and the other pointing to her nose and saying shh, shh, shh.  All while swaying back and forth.

One day I walked into her room and found three little babies on the floor, individually covered with their special blanky.  I love to sit back and watch as her plan to settle her babies unfolds.  First, they are in one corner, she will put them on their belly and then drapes a blanket over their entire body.  After only a few seconds she decides that spot isn't quite right so she picks them up and moves them to a different spot, and then eventually onto the couch.  I'm sure it's because they are having trouble falling asleep and they need a more comfy spot.

It's amazing to see her be such a great nurturer.  I would like to think she gets that from someone...
