NOT a Diet Food

Recently my neighbor had a small gathering for the neighborhood ladies.  Courtney has been my inspiration for my blogging adventure.  You can check out her blog here (but don't forget to come back).  At Courtney's get-together, she had Night Owl's S'more Treat.  Needless to say, the leftovers I came home with didn't last long.

Here's your ingredients:

Of course I had some help in the kitchen.  Don't worry, they are well supervised.

This goes together about as easy as making rice crispy treats.

It's probably best if you make this and it leaves your house, you'll want to save yourself from eating the whole batch.  Enjoy!

Night Owl S'more Treats

Ingredients

  • 9 cups Honey Graham Cereal (like Golden Grahams)
  • ¾ cups Light Corn Syrup
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter
  • 11-½ ounces, weight Package Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 3 cups Mini Marshmallows (I Like 2 Cups)

Preparation Instructions

Grease a cookie sheet with butter.

Measure 9 cups of graham cereal into a large mixing bowl.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine corn syrup, butter and milk chocolate chips. Stir constantly until chocolate chips are melted and ingredients are combined. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour over cereal and stir quickly until cereal is coated with chocolate. Stir in the marshmallows. Pour mixture onto cookie sheet and using a slightly damp hand, press into the pan. And you are ready to go!

Keeps about 2 days… if it lasts that long.
