3rd Grade? Are You Sure?

How is it possible my little kindergartner is now in 3rd grade? Seriously?  I remember my first day of 3rd grade and Mrs. Patten asking the class what we were looking forward to most that year. For me, it was cursive.  Morgan was also excited about learning cursive this year.  She was also hoping to get Mr. F. as her teacher.  Lucky us, she did!

Here's a couple of pictures from the open house.  Morgan's first year with a "real" desk - woo hoo!!!

The next morning Casey and I both stayed home from work to wish Morgan luck on her first day of school.  For Morgan's breakfast she chose a "one-eyed egg".  Thanks Grandpa Tom for the tip, she's hooked!

Brooke isn't a fan of eggs, but this morning she was willing to have some scrambled eggs.

With the bellies full, she is off to catch the bus.  Not before we could take a few "front door" pictures.  The poses this girl does, cracks me up.

Not only was it Morgan's first day of school.  September also means a transition at daycare.  Brooke gets to move across the hall to the Robot Room.

 

The first day of school was a success and everyone had a great day!

Tot Soccer



From the time I was pregnant with Brooke I joked about how this little lady was probably going to be our soccer/baseball girl.  Sure enough, Miss Brooke is a little more active than our dancing Morgan.  When our friend Nicole contacted me and said she found a Tot Soccer program for our kiddos, I was very excited.

Finding an activity for Miss Brooke that works with our schedule and her age group has been a bit challenging.  Hearing that this Tot Soccer program was on Sunday afternoons and for her age group, I was on board with the idea quickly.

When we arrive for "practice" all the kiddos line-up for roll call.  Brooke was so excited to start soccer, but stood there patiently waiting for her name to be called.

"Soccer players go get a yellow ball."  Finally some ball action!

First we need to listen to a few of the rules.  Rule Number 1 - No hands on the ball.

Brooke took this rule VERY seriously.  She was a very focused little lady.

When it was time to listen to the coach.  They need get in their "soccer pose."   How cute is she?!?!

Time for more instructions from the coach.

This program lasts only 1/2 hour and is definitely an introduction to the sport.  They play a few non-competitive games to get the kids used to kicking the soccer ball and listening to the coach.  It's perfect for a 3 1/2 year olds attention span.  

I think she had a good time.  I can't wait to see this little lady grow and play more soccer in the future.

Turning Three - Yee Haw!!!

Oh little cowboy, how is it even possible that you are already three years old?  You have brought so much joy, laughter and excitement to our world and we couldn't be more happier to celebrate your big 3rd BIRTHDAY!!

You love being a cowboy and definitely know how to say "Yee Haw!"  So it was a cowgirl party theme this year.  You definitely knew this was your day and helped to remind everyone to tell you Happy Birthday.

 

Everyone got into the cowgirl party theme, especially sissy.

The photo prop was lots of fun and pretty easy to make.  Using two pieces of foam board from the dollar store and my cricut; presto - we have a "Wanted" backdrop!

   
Even Miss Taylor got into the cowgirl spirit and wore her cowgirl shirt and boots to the party!

You wanted pink cupcakes for your birthday so strawberry it was!  Singing Happy Birthday to you and your sister always seems to make me a little teary eyed. 

Within an hour after everyone had gone home you did some relaxing on the couch and next thing we know you were OUT!

Happy 3rd Birthday to our little cowgirl - Yee Haw!!!
